Baja: Big, splashy adventure
Travelers on a new Baja whale-watching tour will have a ringside seat when the ocean’s superstars put on their annual show this winter in the coastal waters off the Mexican peninsula.
The six-day tour, set up by San Diego-based Baja AirVentures, flies travelers to both the Pacific and Gulf of California coasts for whale watching and other marine animal viewing. Best of Baja tour participants will visit Scammons Lagoon by motorized panga, spend two nights at a bed-and-breakfast in Guerrero Negro and three nights at Baja AirVentures’ Las Animas beachside eco-lodge, south of Bahía de los Ángeles on the shores of the Gulf of California.
Dates: Fourteen departures planned for February and March.
Price: $2,795 per person, double occupancy, plus 18% government fees and taxes; $695 single supplement. Included are private round-trip air from San Diego, lodging, meals, beverages, whale-watching trips and activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, sailing and hiking.
