Big Bear Lake resort is about 100 miles east of Los Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains. It's a good place to find cool weather in the dog days of summer. Minimum stays are required for the 10% discount, and they vary by property. You must book a stay to receive the golf and sky chair discount prices too.

The Stay & Ride Sky Chair package discounts the cost of the ride on the sky chair that takes about 15 minutes and offers wide views of Mt. San Gorgonio and the San Bernardino Mountains. The chair is open daily now through Labor Day (Sept. 7) and weekends from Sept. 11 to Oct. 25.

I found availability for a wide range of condos, cabins and even tree houses for Labor Day weekend with the Sky Chair package. For example, a cabin at Shore Acres Lodge at 40090 Lakeview Drive and two rides cost $573 for a stay from Sept. 4 to 7.
