Pedal 466 miles through remote parts of Japan’s Shikoku Island
Immerse yourself in traditional Japanese culture on a 12-day bike tour of Shikoku Island, the smallest of Japan’s main islands.
The 466-mile route follows ancient samurai roads and will take cyclists through green valleys and past terraced rice paddies and traditional villages.
Highlights include pedaling through remote Iya Gorge and Valley, ascending Mount Ishizuchi, western Japan’s highest peak at 6,503 feet, and crossing Shimanami Kaido, a series of suspension bridges that links Shikoku to the main island of Honshu.
Accommodations include Western-style hotels and traditional Japanese inns with futon beds.
