If you had planned to visit Las Vegas to see Celine Dion perform in the next few weeks, you may need to reconsider your plans. The singing superstar has canceled three weeks of performances at Caesars Palace for ear surgery.

Dion will be out of action for Colosseum shows from March 27 through April 18.

The Canadian singer will have surgery to correct a condition known as Patulous Eustachian tube, which causes some sufferers to hear their own voice or breathing. Dion’s middle ear problem makes it “extremely difficult” for her to sing, a statement Wednesday said.

Dion had been treated for the condition with ear drops for 12 to 18 months, but the medication no longer worked.

“My luck hasn’t been very good lately ... I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens …. I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry,” Dion said on her Facebook page.

Customers holding tickets to canceled shows will receive refunds. Those who used credit cards will be given automatic credits; cash buyers need to return their tickets wherever they were purchased.
