Deal: Visit Philadelphia this January and get free tickets to attractions and extra night’s stay
Philadelphia knows it’s a chilly sell to draw tourists to the city in January. But now it makes this offer to offset the cold: Visit Philly this month and receive free hotel parking, free attraction tickets and a free night’s stay.
The deal: The Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package is available at nine hotels in the city center area. You receive free parking plus a pair of tickets to:
-- One Liberty Observation Deck, usually $19 per adult. The deck offers views of the city from the 57th floor of One Liberty Place.
-- Blue Cross RiverRink and Waterfront Winterfest, usually $3 per person. The Winterfest includes a skating rink and ski chalet with local eats and craft beers.
-- National Constitutional Center, usually $14.50 per person. Learn about the U.S. Constitution through special exhibitions.
-- Philadelphia Auto Show, usually $14 per person. The show rolls out the latest vehicles during the entire month.
The offer is good for stays throughout January of one night or more at the selected hotels. In addition, those who book for Friday and Saturday will receive a Sunday night stay for free.
When: The offer is good during January only.
Tested: I found the package available starting Jan. 15 for $109 a night, excluding tax, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Center City. With a Friday and Saturday night stay over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, the Sunday night is free.
If you book online, some hotels may charge for the third night and then deduct it when you leave.
Other participating hotels include Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Hilton Philadelphia Penn’s Landing, Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia, Sheraton Philadelphia Society Hill Hotel, Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center, the Inn at Penn, Hyatt at the Bellevue and Rodeway Inn Center City.
