Paris: Christmas shopping trip with flights + hotel starts at $1,019 per person

Christmas shopping in Paris doesn’t have to burn a lot of money or a lot of time. Adventure Vacations Inc. has a four-day package that combines round-trip airfare from Los Angeles with a four-night hotel stay starting around $1,000 per person. Of course, you aren’t required to shop; sightseeing works too.

The deal: The cheapest Christmas Shopping in Paris package starts at $1,019 plus tax per person based on double occupancy. It includes round-trip airfare, four nights at the Hotel Villa Saint Martin and daily breakfast, as well as department store discount cards and a map of the city.

With this package, you can select travel dates, upgrade your hotel (for more money, of course) and opt to stay longer too. The airfare varies depending on when you choose to go; the most expensive time would be Christmas week itself. Add a $200 supplement for solo travelers.

When: The offer is good for travel from Nov. 1 to March 31.

Tested: I called Adventure Vacations to check on availability for this package over Thanksgiving weekend, the traditional beginning of holiday shopping in the U.S. I was quoted an itinerary based on nonstop flights for about $1,400 plus tax per person (I could have gotten a cheaper airfare if I had wanted flights with one stop.)

I found that to be a fair price considering that nonstop L.A.-Paris round-trip flights for the dates I selected cost about $1,080 per person when I checked on Kayak.com. If you want to stay closer to the rock-bottom price, work with Adventure Vacations to find suitable dates.
