Napa resort: Room + wine tastings + $50 credit for $199
The Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa has a midweek deal good for a late summer stay in Northern California’s wine country. From now through August, snag a package that includes a suite, $50 daily credit and two wine tastings for $199 a night.
-- The deal: The “Suite” Napa Summertime Special applies to midweek stays in a small suite starting at $199 plus tax. And you can use the $50 daily credit toward a round of golf, breakfast or other eats, spa services and more.
Wine-tasting passes for two are issued when you check in, so you won’t know in advance which vineyards you may be visiting. A resort spokeswoman told me that tasting venues change monthly. Passes this month included the Markham and Artesa vineyards, where tastings normally cost $10 to $15 per person.
-- When: The offer is good Sundays through Thursdays until Aug. 31.
-- Tested: The lowest room rate for this deal applies to a Junior Fireplace Suite that’s about 350 square feet and includes a kitchenette. I found availability for a two-night stay starting Aug. 21 for $199 a night plus $20 a night in fees, which include parking; prices exclude tax. It’s a nice savings considering that without the package, the best available rate for this suite was $289 plus tax and fees for the same nights.
