Palm Springs: $99 rooms for military, teachers at La Quinta
La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs has a special $99 a night rate for military members and teachers who stay at least two nights this summer. The room comes with a $25 resort credit too.
The deal: The Salute to Summer for members of the military starts at $99 a night plus tax for a two-night minimum stay. The same offer is extended to teachers under the Relax and Recess package.
Both offers come with a $25 resort credit and waive the $27 daily resort fee too, which make for a nice savings off the usual rates. Each requires a valid military or teacher photo ID at check-in.
When: The offers are good through Sept. 30 and based on availability.
Tested: I found a wide selection of rooms available -- some poolside, some with king- or two queen-sized beds -- at the $99 rate Aug. 12-14 for members of the military. I also found similar rooms available at the $99 rate for teachers from Aug. 19 to 21. (I found weekend rates to be higher when I checked random dates online.) Best available rates without the discounts for the same rooms on the same nights range from $109 to $139 -- plus the $27 per night resort fee.
