Hertz will rent Lamborghinis and Ferraris for $1,500 a day

Hertz is rolling out a new Dream Cars service that rents high-performance vehicles such as Aston Martins, Porsches, Ferraris and even a Tesla Model S to mere mortals who have money to burn on their next trip.

The selection of luxury cars will vary at each location, but the company plans to introduce the service to 35 markets nationwide, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, Palm Springs and Orange County.

And this comes with what Hertz describes as VIP perks too: “Additionally, the Dream Cars experience extends from special reservation channels to being greeted by a Hertz representative at the airport terminal, to a rental vehicle in pristine condition,” Hertz Chairman and Chief Executive Mark P. Frissora said in a statement last week announcing Hertz Dream Cars.

Before you sign up, here’s some of the prices for renting these fabulous vehicles:

--The Boxster and other Porsches start at $350 a day with 75 miles allowed (49 cents for each additional mile).

--An Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8 and similar models start at $1,000 a day with 75 miles allowed and $3 per additional mile.

--Top cars -- Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys -- start at $1,500 a day with 75 miles allowed and $3 per additional mile.

Hertz already rents out vehicles from an Adrenaline collection (including Corvettes and Mustangs), Prestige vehicles such as Cadillacs and some Mercedes-Benz models, and Green Traveler cars such as the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle.
