‘Legends in Concert’ is Las Vegas’ longest-running show, with 18,500 performances in 35 years
Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are returning as the “Legends in Concert” musical tribute act celebrates its 35th anniversary in Las Vegas.
Shows come and go along the Strip, but “Legends” has had true staying power. When it debuted in 1983, the show was expected to run for six weeks.
Over time, the show has changed up different musical acts. To celebrate its more than three decades in the city, 16-year-old Nathaniel Cullors has joined the cast and will appear as a young Jackson.
Cullors has acted on Broadway and appeared on TV with Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey. He sings Jackson’s hits such as “Dancing Machine” and “I’ll Be There.”
The anniversary also marks the return of Matt Lewis as Elvis following a five-year hiatus.
Lewis, Cullors and Cynthia Minx, who performs a rousing tribute to Aretha Franklin, are part of a special ensemble that will be performing through May 17.
The show is staged Saturdays through Thursdays in the Donny & Marie Showroom at the Flamingo. Show times vary by date.
Tickets cost $53 to $73.
“Legends” now bills itself as the longest-running show in Vegas. “Jubilee!” ended a run of nearly 35 years in 2016.
According to a news release, “Legends” has been seen by more than 6.6 million people during 18,500 performances on the Strip.
