Play poker with celebrities at Brad Garrett’s upcoming tournament
Play poker with celebrities and help out a charity when comedian and actor Brad Garrett brings his Maximum Hope Foundation charity poker tournament to the MGM Grand on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The comedian, who has a comedy club at the resort, plans to bring celebrities and professional poker players to the event, which will take over the space between Wolfgang Puck’s Bar & Grill and the KÀ Theatre.
Garrett says 85 cents from every dollar raised at the event goes to families with children facing what he calls a “life-limiting illness. Even the smallest donation can help one of our many families with the daily necessities that so many of us take for granted,” he says in a press statement. He named the organization for his two children Max and Hope.
The No-Limit Hold’em poker tournament has a $250 entry fee, and participants can re-buy within the first two hours of play for an additional $100.
The winner walks away with a guaranteed $10,000 first-place prize.
Past tournaments have featured actor and comedian Ray Romano, actresses Cheryl Hines and Mimi Rodgers and Garrett’s former “How to Live With Your Parents” co-stars Elizabeth Perkins, Willie Garson, Jon Dore and Stephanie Hunt.
