Dine like an Academy Award winner at Spago

For the past 21 years, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has been serving dinner to 1,500 or so actors, actresses and Hollywood big shots following the Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Puck landed the Governors Ball dinner after academy members noticed that celebs went to his restaurant Spago instead of the official after-party.

Now diners in Las Vegas can try a simplified spread on Sunday, Feb. 22, the night of the 87th Academy Awards.

While Puck’s Hollywood dinner will feature more than 50 dishes, at his Forum Shops at Caesars location, he is offering a $120-per-person tasting menu with seven dishes.

Chef Eric Klein of Spago Las Vegas is serving yellowfin tuna sashimi, an artichoke soup, chilled Maine lobster salad, ravioli with house made ricotta and black truffles, grilled French sea bass with a parsnip purée and Colorado lamb loin with butternut squash.

The menu, which is inspired by the Governors Ball dishes, will also include a dessert that will be featured at that party, apple millefeuille with a brown butter sauce.

Guests will walk away with miniature chocolate Oscars painted in edible gold, the same trinket Governors Ball guests will receive.
