Infographic: Honoring Rose Parade grand marshal Louis Zamperini
Zamperini, the Olympic athlete turned World War II hero who passed away in July after being named grand marshal, will be represented by his family during the parade. Zamperini’s life and accomplishments will be honored by a float from the city of Torrance.
Flowers of the float
The float will use over 16,000 flowers from all over the world. In the days leading up to the parade, flowers are chilled and kept in individual vials to keep them looking fresh and hydrated. Here's a look at some of the flowers planned for Zamperini's float.
