Eucalyptus Tree Grower Buys Delano Property
Rod Kazanjian, reportedly California’s largest eucalyptus tree grower, has paid $5 million for 3,520 acres of land near Delano for expansion of his Fresno-based biomass energy operation. The Tulare County property was sold by Griffin/Fraysher Co., Bakersfield.
Kazanjian plans to put 1,240 acres into production of the fast growing trees, a major source of energy in Israel and other countries and a popular source of slow burning firewood in this country. Kazanjian is America’s leading importer of eucalyptus seeds from Australia.
Diamond Realtors of Clovis represented both parties in the transaction. The land is currently used to grow cotton, barley, wheat and almonds.
