Pacific Texas Pipeline, Long Beach, said it awarded California Steel a contract valued at $150 million to supply more than 500 miles of 42-inch pipe for its 1,026-mile California-to-Texas crude oil pipeline. According to Pacific Texas, California Steel will participate in a joint venture with Kaiser Steel in providing the pipe. California Steel will roll the steel for the pipe at its Fontana plant, and it will then be transported to Kaiser Steel’s Napa, Calif., pipe fabrication facility.
