The trial of film director John Landis and four co-defendants will begin Jan. 20 before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz, who will take the place of Judge Gordon Ringer. Ringer bowed out due to a heavy workload, resulting in a controversy between prosecution and defense attorneys concerning the selection of another judge. The defendants are charged with involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of actor Vic Morrow and two child actors during a July, 1982, accident in which a helicopter crashed amid special effects explosions during the filming of the movie “Twilight Zone.”
