C. G. Industries Inc. of Chatsworth has been purchased by a Northern California company, Flextronics Inc. of Newark. Both companies assemble printed circuit boards. The purchase price was not disclosed by either privately held company.

No immediate changes are in store for C. G. Industries, but operations at the Chatsworth plant will be expanded, Flextronics spokeswoman Simone Otus said.

The buyout will provide C. G. Industries with purchasing power in Asia, where Flextronics has two plants, Otus said. Components made in Asia also are often less expensive than those produced domestically.

For Flextronics, the deal offers a presence in Southern California, close to many current and potential clients.

Aside from its Newark facility, Flextronics has plants in Lowell, Mass., in Singapore and in Hong Kong. Sales in fiscal year 1984 ended March 31 were $50 million. C. G. Industries reported sales last year of $6.5 million.

Flextronics president Robert Todd said he expects C. G. Industires’ sales to boom this year. “They’ll be able to get involved in expensive turnkey operations they couldn’t handle before without the backing of a company like Flextronics,” he said.
