MCI Communications settled two antitrust suits.
The company reported the out-of-court settlement of the two antitrust lawsuits initially brought against AT&T; and the now-divested Bell operating companies and of certain other antitrust claims. A similar settlement had earlier been concluded with the three operating companies owned by US West. The current settlement includes all of the remaining operating companies as well as AT&T.; The settlement proceeds due MCI consist of cash and also products and services, the latter to be received over several years. Other terms were not disclosed.
