Free information on how to prepare for an earthquake is available by calling (213) PREPARE.
On Friday, free earthquake safety demonstrations and lifesaver cards with identification photos will be available at these San Fernando Valley locations:
Topanga Plaza shopping mall, lower level, 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hughes Market, 16940 Devonshire St., Granada Hills; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gemco department store, 8840 Corbin Ave., Northridge; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
