Hollywood Building Owner Fined $7,300 for Code violations
The owner of a five-story apartment house in Hollywood has been fined $7,300 after pleading no contest to charges involving health and safety code violations in the building at 1929 N. Whitley Ave.
Joel Mark, 29, of Santa Monica, had been charged with violations that included rat and cockroach infestation, defective fire doors and missing screens, the city attorney’s office said Wednesday.
Mark sold the building in August and the new owner plans to renovate the 40-unit complex, officials said.
