TransTechnology Corp. has bought the assets of Bell & Howell’s Business Data Products division for $10 million.
Business Data is a payment-processing firm used by banks and utilities. Arch C. Scurlock, TransTechnology’s chairman, said the acquisition would add $25 million in sales to TransTechnology in the next year.
Headquartered in Sherman Oaks, TransTechnology is a diversified aerospace and technology firm. Bell & Howell, based in Skokie, Ill., has been the target of various takeover offers. TransTechnology, however, is not involved in those negotiations.
