More than $750,000 worth of specialized computer equipment has been given UC San Diego by the Hewlett Packard Corp., school administrators announced Wednesday.
The company gave the Department of Computer Science and Engineering $555,000 worth of hardware and software intended to help undergraduates learn more about building and designing sophisticated computer chips. In addition, $227,000 worth of computers and related equipment was donated to the department of applied mechanics and engineering science to be used in various engineering courses.
