MAI Basic Four, a Tustin-based computer manufacturer, reported flat earnings for its latest quarter despite a 42% rise in revenue. MAI’s earnings for its fiscal 1988 third quarter, ended June 30, were $6.8 million, down slightly from $6.83 million in the year-earlier period. The company’s 1987 quarter included a one-time tax credit of $989,000. Excluding the 1987 gain, MAI’s earnings for the latest quarter would have shown a 16% increase. Third-quarter revenue was $112.3 million, up from $79.1 million a year earlier. For the latest nine months, MAI’s earnings rose 11% to $18.7 million from $16.8 million. Sales increased 32% to $302.9 million from $229.2 million.
