Sears Workers 3rd Lotto Winner
SACRAMENTO — A group of 25 workers at a Sears appliance service department in Sacramento stepped forward today with the third winning ticket in Saturday’s world-record $60.8-million Lotto jackpot to claim their collective share.
Lottery officials scheduled but then canceled a news conference with the Sacramento group. Lottery spokeswoman Kim Rendahl said the workers decided they didn’t want the publicity and had to return to work. Surinder Sanghera, owner of Sangheras House of Liquors where the winning ticket was sold, said the Sears workers were regular players. “I think they’ve been buying here since the Lotto began.”
