Commodore International earnings climbed 52% to $9.6 million in its first fiscal quarter. Revenue increased 15% to $200.2 million. The West Chester, Pa., personal computer maker said its profit gain would have been 92% were it not for a tax-related gain of $1.3 million that boosted profit in the year-ago period. The company credited its performance on broad-based growth in demand for its products.
