RAP
I disagree with rapper M.C. Ren’s statement that Jazzy Jeff’s “Parents Just Don’t Understand” is “phony.” Perhaps a “black kid from the streets” would laugh at the record. But not all black kids grew up on the streets.
I’m black and neither of my parents were into “crack and prostitution.” I’d be willing to bet that the majority of youths in America, black and white, can relate to “Parents” a lot easier than they can relate to dope pushers and gangbangers.
