Goldberg Starts Tender Offer for Di Giorgio: New Jersey-based investor Arthur Goldberg launched a $188-million tender for San Francisco-based Di Giorgio Corp., saying he will shed all units except the White Rose food division. In a newspaper ad, Rose Partners, Goldberg’s investment vehicle, said it had started a tender offer at $32 a share for all the outstanding stock. Goldberg holds 14.1% of Di Giorgio. A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said Goldberg intends to dispose of all Di Giorgio’s units except White Rose and that it may close the San Francisco headquarters and reassign some management positions.
