SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JOB MARKET : PART THREE: EXTRAS THAT COUNT : It May Be Less Fun at the Top
Fun apparently can prove more elusive for managers than for those they supervise. Hewitt Associates, a benefits consulting firm based in Lincolnshire, Ill., found that 18% of rank-and-file workers at an accounting company viewed having fun as one of six important motivators on the job. And 83% of those employees said they were satisfied with the level of fun in their jobs.
Among executives, 29% picked having fun as one of six important motivators, but only 72% of them were satisfied with the degree of fun in their work.
