Toyota’s Kentucky Plant Starts Up: Toyota Motor Corp said the first phase of its $1.1 billion engine production facilities in Georgetown, Ky., went into operation. The No. 1 Japanese car maker said the $300-million investment which includes assembly of four-cylinder engines, started operations on one shift with a second shift to be added next spring.
