Pep Boys: The Philadelphia-based automotive retail and service chain said third-quarter earnings declined 11% from a year ago to $9 million. Sales totaled a record $205.1 million, up 19%. The firm said the earnings figures were due mainly to ongoing pressure from gross margins, adding that its current aggressive expansion program will continue.
