Jerry Golden; Mobile Home Industry Pioneer
Jerry Golden, 75, former chairman of Golden West Homes, a mobile home building firm he founded in 1965. Golden began in the industry in 1940, when the mobile home business was in its infancy, and worked in the Midwest before starting his manufacturing firm in Santa Ana. He sold his interest in the firm in 1983 to the William Lyon Co. and retired. His philanthropies included the City of Hope which named him Industry Man of the Year in 1972. In Newport Beach on Feb. 5 of heart failure.
