Pay-Fone Systems Buoyed by Second-Quarter Profit
Pay-Fone Systems Inc. said it earned $18,757 in the fiscal second quarter that ended Dec. 31 as cost-cutting efforts took effect, in contrast to a $35,360 loss a year earlier. The Van Nuys payroll-services company said revenues fell to $1.4 million from $1.5 million.
Pay-Fone lost $12,312 in the six months that ended Dec. 31, compared to earnings of $7,463 in the year-earlier period. Revenues totaled $2.8 million, down from $2.9 million.
