Atari Corp.: The personal computer and video game maker said second-quarter 1990 profit soared fivefold from 1989 on sales of $84.9 million, up 2%. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company noted progress in the rollout of new products, including the Lynx color handheld portable video game and the Portfolio, a handheld computer, and said it had managed considerable savings on integral parts.
