L.A. Gear Cuts More Jobs: A spokesman for sneaker maker L.A. Gear said the company continued in recent weeks to eliminate jobs as part of its cost-cutting program. He declined to give specifics but said the company’s employment now stands at somewhat below 1,500, down from 1,600 reported early this year. Separately, sources close to L.A. Gear said the Marina del Rey company has negotiated an agreement that will bring its bank loans out of technical default. The company declined to comment.
