LTV Reaches Pension Accord: The Dallas-based steelmaker said it reached a tentative agreement on payments to its severely under-funded pension funds, an issue that has been a sticking point in its efforts to emerge from bankruptcy protection. However, the tentative deal with the federal pension insurance agency--allowing LTV Corp. to pay $950 million into the steelworker retirement plans in return for smaller annual payments in the future--still must be approved by LTV creditors.
