Paul N. Yu; Former American Heart Assn. President
Paul N. Yu, 75, a cardiologist who served as president of the American Heart Assn. in 1972 and 1973. He was chief of the cardiology unit at the University of Rochester Medical Center from 1957 to 1982, and was a leader in the use of cardiac catheterization to study heart disease. Born in China, Yu came to the United States for his medical residency in Rochester, N. Y., and stayed. In 1989, he retired to Taipei to develop the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in Academia Sinica. On Tuesday in Taipei after a long illness.
