Wisconsin Invests Trust in O.C.: The state of Wisconsin Investment Board bought 230,000 common shares of Nichols Institute Inc., a San Juan Capistrano provider of clinical testing services to hospitals, for $11.50 each on Oct. 11. The purchase boosts the board’s stake to 8.2%, or 455,000 common shares, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The board acts as investment manager of trust funds held by the state for the Wisconsin Retirement System, a public pension fund covering public employees in Wisconsin.
