* Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced the appointment of Fred J. Gruberth as vice president and treasurer, replacing Ronald B. Casriel, who is retiring. Casriel had served in the position since 1975.
Gruberth, who has a degree in geological engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Harvard MBA, has been senior assistant treasurer at Oxy since 1978. Before coming to the Los Angeles-based oil company in 1973, Gruberth worked for Agrico Chemical Co. and Conoco Inc.
