WINGING IN: After the Beatles, after Wings, and now that he’s 50, Paul McCartney is making a name in the classical idiom. In fact, he is so proud of his “Liverpool Oratoria,” his managers confirm, that he will appear at the West Coast premiere of the musical composition at the Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa Oct. 24. Tickets range from $25 to $100 for the one-night only performance by the Master Chorale of Orange County. “We’re thrilled,” says the Master Chorale’s Sheri Shepherd. “We’re planning a great party for him.”
