Saturn on the Mall: A year after megadealer John Campbell and the executives at Campbell Automotive Group in Santa ana began kicking around the idea, Saturn of Westminster Mall finally becomes reality.

While auto malls are commonplace, this is Orange County’s first car dealer in a regular retail mall. Customers will be able to test drive and purchase cars and buy some parts and accessories there but will have to go to a full-size Saturn dealership for service.

The mall facility was completed in July. Campbell said he has been waiting for delivery of Saturn’s new computer system before opening because it would have been too expensive to install the old one and then rip it out and put in the new system less than three months later.

In addition to its franchise for several other makes, Campbell Automotive has the exclusive Saturn franchises for all of Orange County with two other full-size dealerships, in Santa Ana and Huntington Beach.
