Victor Co. Plans $154-Million Write-Off: In another sign of problems among Japanese electronics makers, Victor Co. of Japan, a major maker of audio and visual equipment, said it will write off $154 million for the financial year through March in extraordinary losses linked to the closure of three subsidiaries, the Nihon Keizai newspaper said. The company is expected to report a net loss of about $41.8 million as a result, the paper said.
