Countywide : Shootings Probably Related, Police Say
Two shootings that happened within two miles of each other in Thousand Oaks were apparently related, Ventura County deputies said Wednesday.
In the first of the incidents Tuesday, the owner of a car parked in the 1600 block of Calle Fidelidad in Thousand Oaks said someone shot at his car about 10:50 p.m.
About half an hour later, deputies were called to the scene of another shooting in the 300 block of Autumnwood Street, about two miles away, Lt. Bill Montijo said.
The second shooting happened as a woman sat in her living room. Four bullets pierced the living room window, one striking a wall above where she was seated.
There were no injuries in the shootings, Montijo said. Deputies had no suspects in either case, but said the incidents were probably linked because of their geographical nearness and time. Montijo said the bullets retrieved from the first shooting resembled the .22-caliber bullets found at the Autumnwood residence.
Deputies said they did not believe that either resident was specifically targeted.
