General Mills to Close 27 Red Lobster Restaurants: The company said it has closed 27 Red Lobster restaurants, including some operations in Southern California, as part of a restructuring to improve profit. Four Southland Red Lobsters--restaurants located in Pasadena, West Covina, Panorama City and Tarzana--were shut down, the company said. About 300 were employed at the four locations. General Mills said it would give displaced workers an opportunity to work at 20 other remaining Red Lobsters in the Los Angeles area. General Mills Inc., based in Golden Valley, Minn., has 600 Red Lobsters nationwide.
