RETAILING
Wal-Mart Reportedly Considering Orange County Site: Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is close to signing an agreement that would clear the way for the nation’s largest retailer to open its first store in Orange County, city officials say. The store would be in the Marketplace at Laguna Niguel, a 425,000-square-foot shopping center proposed near the intersection of Pacific Park Drive and Alicia Parkway. The center would also house a Mervyn’s department store and a Vons supermarket. Wal-Mart officials would not comment on the company’s expansion plans.
