First American Title Insurance Buying 3 Firms
First American Title Insurance Co. said Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire three title insurance and abstract companies for an undisclosed price.
First American’s directors approved purchases of the assets of First American Title Co. in San Antonio; Peterson Abstract in Center City, Minn., near the Twin Cities metropolitan area; and Washakie Abstract Co. in Worland, Wyo.
First American Title is the main subsidiary of First American Financial Corp., which is based in Santa Ana and is one of the nation’s largest title insurers. It offers title services through a network of more than 300 offices and 4,000 agents in all 50 states.
Consulting Group Opened: Eco-Metalclad Inc., a subsidiary of Metalclad Corp. in Newport Beach, said it has opened an environmental management consulting group in Mexico City and appointed Humberto Rodarte director general of the group.
The company said the group has signed an agreement to provide environmental support services for a hazardous waste landfill in Mexico. Rodarte was previously senior adviser of the Instituto Nacional de Ecologia, the national environmental agency in Mexico.
