A Free Guide on Radon Gives Advice to Buyers and Sellers
The “Home Buyer’s and Seller’s Guide to Radon,” a new 32-page booklet by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, recommends that homes be tested for radon during realty transactions and provides step-by-step guidance on the process to buyers, sellers, agents, attorneys and home inspectors.
The EPA estimates that one out of 15 U.S. homes may have high levels of radon, a naturally occurring gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths.
Free copies of the “Home Buyer’s and Seller’s Guide to Radon” are available from the California Department of Health Services by calling (800) 745-7236 or from the EPA by calling (415) 744-1049.
