2 Men Killed, 1 Wounded in Shooting
NORTHRIDGE — Gunmen killed two men and wounded a third outside an apartment complex Wednesday night, police reported.
The condition of the wounded man was unknown. Police would not name the hospital where he was taken.
The victims were shot about 9 p.m. in the parking lot of a 36-unit apartment complex in the 8600 block of Wilbur Street, Los Angeles police said.
An apartment house resident, who asked not to be identified, said the victims were repairing a vehicle in the parking lot when they were approached by a carload of men who asked to buy drugs. The victims said they were not drug dealers, he said.
A gunman emerged from the car and demanded money; a scuffle ensued. One of the victims tried unsuccessfully to wrestle the gunman’s weapon away, the witness said. Shots were fired and the three were hit, he said.
