Implications of U.S. Labor Study
Well, the Clinton health plan for America is already at work! With prescription in hand, Labor Secretary Robert Reich ordered up a study of U.S. workers that was clearly designed to discover an illness to support the Clinton Administration’s diagnosis of what’s wrong with America (“Federal Study Paints a Grim Picture of the Workplace,” June 3).
The Administration’s overriding goal, of course--as with everything they prescribe for American business--is the expansion of government and the political class as America’s new royalty. They do this by creating studies that show this country as unfair, as an engine of poverty, as racist--or that demonstrate ever-widening gaps between rich and poor.
Defining the problem as between haves and have-nots as Reich does reveals the real agenda. The solution is always the same: We need ever-growing government and the elites in charge to redistribute income from the so-called rich to the poor in America (first raking off their share for these wonderful activities).
