CareLine Inc.: The ambulance service company’s stock plummeted 27% Tuesday in unusually heavy trading. The stock, traded on the Nasdaq market, closed at a 52-week low of $6.375, down $2.375.
Officials of the Irvine-based firm were not available for comment.
CareLine, which has been on a buying spree in the past year, last week completed the acquisition of three ambulance services in Philadelphia. Previous purchases included LifeFleet in Newport Beach and Pruner Health Services in Thousand Oaks.
