BRIEFLY : College: $125,000 From Artist’s Estate to Fund New Facility
A $125,000 donation from the estate of an artist will allow Santa Monica College’s Emeritus College to complete construction of its new facility, located on 2nd Street in Santa Monica.
The gift from the late D’Arcy Sanger Hayman, an artist and former cultural ambassador of UNESCO, also provides the college with the funds necessary to pay rent and buy supplies for the D’Arcy Hayman Art Center at Emeritus College, an art and health-maintenance program for older adults.
Hayman, a Pacific Palisades artist and teacher whose art was exhibited in Brazil, England, France, Italy and Mexico, died in June.
